Hi Tom,

I am not a lover of political intrigue, so I was not one of the people who completely understood every event you referred to here. I do listen to the news and watch enough to know
enough to understand the poem and what you were saying.
I had to admire your poetic skills as well. You are right, there
are many readers who won't even know to whom you speak nor of whom you speak. That is the sadness of today's youth.

As for using the poetic arena to write political things, there are sites that cater to that. Just as there are some which only use dark poetry, erotica, western etc. but for us to post
one here sometimes seems fine to me. I wouldn't want a steady diet of it, just as I, who write a lot against sexual abuse, don't post it often--still I use the poem boards to try to tell young people to speak up.
The unfortunate thing about poetry, is that 99% of the people think everthing we write is a personal journey we have been on. I was raised so tenderly and delicately, with such love that I hurt for every child who didn't have that safety. I had a young friend who suffered from age 9 till 16 and so I know the scars it leaves, as much as I can know from what she let me know. I have to imagine the rest, so when I write about it, I am speaking a bit abstractly.
I thought that you handled the political poem that way. Not too specific but enough we knew what you meant.
As you can see, I don't know how to talk with few words. :)
Thanks for the chat. I do hope I answered you. LOL. sylvia
