Novem...a form invented by Robin Skelton. Three word, three line stanzas. Only one word per stanza has two syllables, the remaining one syllable. Further the two syllable word, like the burmese sample above, is in the third word first line, second word second line, first word third line. Consonance is part of this form too, there needs to be a repeated consonate sound four or five times per stanza:


We are weary,
and aware as
wedding bells toll,

Bells don't beckon
us, better off
being one bare

hand man alone,
a lonesome hale
woman has her

mate, if skittish,
she shouldn't fret
sharing her bed.
