Ripening
Blossoms fall from the trees
decaying slowly
disregarded on the ground.
Once almost holy.
gardens are no longer filled
with their worshippers.
Time the enemy has killed
the pretty dancers.
Now full foliage displays
exquisites shading.
All the greens of summer days
to my eyes pleasing.
In time summer will end too
harvest time will come.
.As the seasons blend into
The time of the plum
and ripe cherries sweet to eat
Tasted by the eyes
before the lips can compete.
Natures ways are wise.
First the blossoms please the eye.
Time to meditate
on the wonder of the trees.
We anticipate
the bounty that from beauty springs
the fruit set by the blossoming.
