Night and mourning
My bed is cold wide and empty
as white as the winter plains.
I have no wife to share my nights with me
theres no one who will care about my pains.
Her cheeks like cherry blossom when we wed
hair blacker than the polished ravens wing
we shared our thoughts and dreams. Now she is dead
my heart is sad I have no song to sing.
My bed is no longer sanctuary
I wake in the night and weep you are gone.
and I am left alone uncomforted
In that strange country of an empty bed.
