Without you misty October rainy days
have the same dank filmy haze covering
my eyes.
Without you, I still sleep away the turn
of the night into day, still stir through
vaulted sunrise.
Without you, my hair still gradually grays
my thickening fingers still move across
this keyboard's brow.
Without you I slowly rise, still greet the
world as my heart lies broken nearby,
awhir in dun- browns.
Sitting alone, mingling in darkness,
waiting for another minute to pass
If I were to say I miss you...
Without you, I still turn on the
tap of clouds to cover these naked
October trees;
Still dream in saturnian autumn relief, still
dance in scatter of musty brown leaves, still
stir through sights;
Still walk in silenced painful groans, the creak
of crabby bones, stuttered voice bouncing on
your name, you see:
Still there is floating music, echoing cold reminders
I am not met with your embrace. And I awaken
with lesser reasons why.
