I, Aragorn
I, musing in the darkness at the end
Of all things wonderful in Gondor-bright
The time has come to lay the mantle down
And launch into the long, eternal night
My Queen, the elven Arwen Evenstar
Must wander now, without her mortal love
Oh, curse the fate of spending life without
The prospect of our union there above
Her raven tresses fall upon my brow
This gentle elvish kiss upon my lips
The elves have Middle-Earth forsaken, gone
Unto the Havens grey in ghostly ships
My sight grows dim, I cannot leave her thus
Alone upon these mortal shores to mourn
Her eyes so grey, immortal grace so fair
To leave her here in anguished love, forlorn
Oh, Gondor-fair, take care of her, my heart
Shall burn eternally without her near
And I shall wander, lost, in darkness grim
Forevermore in sorrows wretched mere
I, musing in the darkness at the end
Of all things wonderful in Gondor-bright
The time has come to lay the mantle down
And launch into the long, eternal night
My Queen, the elven Arwen Evenstar
Must wander now, without her mortal love
Oh, curse the fate of spending life without
The prospect of our union there above
Her raven tresses fall upon my brow
This gentle elvish kiss upon my lips
The elves have Middle-Earth forsaken, gone
Unto the Havens grey in ghostly ships
My sight grows dim, I cannot leave her thus
Alone upon these mortal shores to mourn
Her eyes so grey, immortal grace so fair
To leave her here in anguished love, forlorn
Oh, Gondor-fair, take care of her, my heart
Shall burn eternally without her near
And I shall wander, lost, in darkness grim
Forevermore in sorrows wretched mere
