So tenuous your soul
when spread, its sorrow
as ceaseless as rain,
bathed in mirrors
how your darken over me like shadows
released from those colors
that cannot be seen, to clasp
in the dark, kisses that flutter,
lit in some embrace,
a slender cadence of bodies lift
whispers to their bloodthirsty lips
to drink in the light
and recklessly illumine
the boundaries of flesh,
so adorned bone hinges
the slim resistance of the soul's
meridian lines fused into the heart,
as I lie tenuous as tense muscle,
bent the body yearning
to draw inside itself
another dreaming body,
speaking other than words
the eternal thirst follows
and fatigue and infinite sorrow,
drum-rolls fade to the lullaby
of two parallel swallows, beating
a retreat into the heavy rains.
